In December 2024, a new chapter began for First Metro Asset Management Inc. (FAMI).

That month, ATR Financial Holdings Inc. (ATR Financial) acquired a 70% stake in the company — a strategic partnership that brought together decades of expertise, a shared vision for growth, and a deep commitment to empowering investors.

Following the acquisition, FAMI was renamed ATR Financial Advisory and Management, Inc. (ATR FAMI) — a name that reflects its broader mission: not just to manage assets, but to guide clients toward smarter, purpose-driven investing.

Behind ATR Financial is a consortium of investors and management partners led by Mr. Manuel N. Tordesillas, a respected figure in Philippine finance. As Chairman of ATR Financial, Chairman and co-founder of ATRAM Trust Corporation, and Chairman of MET Holdings Inc., Mr. Tordesillas has spent his career shaping the country’s investment landscape. He has held leadership positions in major institutions such as Maybank Kim Eng Investment Bank, ATR Kim Eng Capital Partners Inc., Citicorp Investment Bank, and Peregrine Capital Limited — and served for seven years as President of the Investment House Association of the Philippines. His enduring influence and forward-looking leadership continue to inspire the direction of ATR FAMI today.

Guiding ATR FAMI’s day-to-day vision is Ms. Karen Liza M. Roa, who has served as President since 2018. A shareholder of ATR Financial, Ms. Roa brings a wealth of experience in fund management and a deep passion for helping Filipinos build wealth through informed and responsible investing. Under her leadership, ATR FAMI continues to evolve — expanding its services beyond retail mutual funds to include personalized financial advisory and investment management for mid-sized corporate and institutional clients.

At its heart, ATR FAMI’s story is one of partnership — grounded in trust, collaboration, and a shared belief in financial empowerment. Among its valued institutional partners are the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) and the Marist Brothers Congregation Philippines, Inc.

Founded in 1941, CEAP represents a nationwide network of more than 1,525 private Catholic educational institutions and over 120 superintendents of Catholic schools. Through its partnership with ATR FAMI, CEAP continues its mission to strengthen education and values-based leadership across the country.

The Marist Brothers Congregation Philippines, Inc., part of an international Catholic religious community with more than 5,000 members in over 70 countries, shares the same vision of service and stewardship — values that resonate deeply with ATR FAMI’s purpose.

Together, these partnerships and the people behind ATR FAMI drive a single goal: to help Filipinos and institutions invest with clarity, confidence, and conscience.
